Teterboro handles passengers rather than freight, so New York cargo work on the Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia routes through Newark Liberty (EWR) or JFK. It is a small turboprop feeder carrying 1,200 cubic feet about 945 nautical miles at 300 knots.

Why the Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia Fits the New York Metro
Small and urgent is the New York job. A pallet or two of parts or medical supplies moving from Newark to New England or the mid-Atlantic on a same-day basis does not need a 737 freighter, and paying for one makes no sense.
It reaches the smaller fields. The EMB-120 uses regional runways around the Northeast that jet freighters cannot, which puts the cargo closer to where it is actually going.
At 300 knots it is quick for a turboprop, so on the short regional sectors that make up most of this work the time penalty against a jet is smaller than the cost difference.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates; reports may be provided on request.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
